Private Art Classes & Workshops in Chicago

Artist-led creative experiences for private groups, celebrations, and gatherings.

Conjure Ink workshops are built around making, not performing.

Elisha Marie leads private art experiences in Chicago for people who want something more personal than a standard party activity and more relaxed than a formal class.

The goal is simple: give people enough structure to feel confident, enough freedom to make something individual, and enough room for the experience itself to feel memorable.

  • creative exercises built around memory, story, or theme
  • beginner-friendly drawing foundations

The exact format depends on the group and the kind of experience you want to create.

Good for

Birthdays

A creative gathering that gives everyone something to do, make, and take home.

A shared art experience that can work across ages when the project is designed appropriately.

Corporate & Team Events

Creative sessions for teams that want something tactile, collaborative, and different from the usual networking format.

Private Celebrations

Anniversaries, showers, reunions, dinner-party add-ons, and other gatherings that benefit from a hands-on creative element.

Why Elisha

Elisha’s teaching background is part of her art practice, not an add-on.

She taught foundational art skills at Redwood Art Studio in Brooklyn, helping students build confidence through drawing and watercolor, and she has spent years working in an educational environment at Chicago Waldorf School.

That experience shapes the way she leads groups now.

Clear guidance.

A calm room.

Enough structure to help people begin.

Enough space for the work to still feel like theirs.

Beginner-Friendly by Design

You do not need to know how to draw.

You do not need to be “the artistic one.”

Private workshops are designed to meet people where they are, with demonstrations, prompts, and practical guidance that make the process accessible without flattening everyone into the same result.

The point is not perfection.

It is attention, experimentation, and making something with your own hand.

A Different Kind of Event Experience

If you want Elisha creating artwork for guests rather than leading the group, explore live event illustration in Chicago.

The Art Behind the Workshop

Elisha’s wider practice moves through drawing, tattooing, portraiture, symbolism, memory, and the human figure.

Her workshops carry that same belief that drawing is not only about producing a polished image.

It is also a way of noticing.

Of slowing down.

Of translating what you see into something made by hand.

Live Event Illustrator in Chicago

Live guest portraits that become part of the event.

Elisha Marie creates live digital portraits for weddings, corporate events, brand activations, private celebrations, and other gatherings throughout Chicago.

Guests are drawn in real time, turning the illustration process into part of the experience itself.

It gives people something to watch, something to talk about, and something personal to take home.

A Portrait While the Room Is Still Moving

Live illustration works because it is both entertainment and keepsake.

Guests can stop by, sit for a quick portrait, and leave with a piece of artwork created for them during the event.

The drawing becomes part of the atmosphere without taking over the room.

Elisha’s approach is warm, observant, and efficient, with enough personality in each portrait to feel individual.

ASK ABOUT YOUR EVENT

Built from Years of Live Drawing

Elisha’s live event work is not a new side offering.

After years of drawing people on the subway in New York, she was selected to work with Drawing Booth, where she spent nearly eight years creating live digital portraits at high-end events.

That experience taught her how to:

  • draw quickly without making the work feel generic
  • engage guests naturally
  • read posture, expression, and character
  • work within the rhythm of a live event
  • keep the experience moving smoothly
  • create a keepsake people actually want to keep

That combination of speed, observation, and guest interaction is what makes live illustration work in a crowded room.

Good for

Weddings

A personal guest experience that also becomes a take-home keepsake.

Corporate Events

Live portraiture works especially well when the goal is to create something interactive without forcing guests into a formal activity.

Brand Activations

A custom illustration experience can add personality to launches, pop-ups, hospitality events, and branded guest experiences.

Private Parties

Birthdays, anniversaries, milestone events, dinners, and celebrations where you want something more memorable than a standard favor.

Galas & Special Events

A refined interactive element that can fit naturally into cocktail hour, receptions, lounges, or guest entertainment areas.

What Guests Experience

The setup is simple.

Guests approach Elisha’s station, sit or stand for a quick portrait, and watch the illustration take shape.

The process is part of the entertainment.

The finished piece gives them something personal from the event rather than another generic giveaway.

Depending on the event format, portraits may be created individually or in pairs.

PLAN LIVE ILLUSTRATION FOR YOUR EVENT

Why Live Illustration Works

A good event detail should do more than occupy space.

It should help people connect to the room.

Live portraiture creates:

  • a natural conversation point
  • a reason for guests to linger and interact
  • a memorable visual experience
  • a personalized takeaway
  • an artistic element that feels integrated rather than added on

For planners and hosts, it also gives the event something distinctive without requiring a large footprint.

A Visual Style Guests Remember

Elisha’s broader practice moves through portraiture, tattooing, illustration, gesture, memory, and the human figure.

That background gives the portraits a drawn, artist-led quality rather than a novelty-sketch feel.

Her work is especially suited to events that want something intimate, stylish, personal, and visually considered.
