Elisha Marie · Chicago

Artist.
Illustrator.
Tattooer.

Conjure Ink is where Elisha’s worlds meet: drawing, tattooing, portraiture, motherhood, symbolism, and the human figure.

Originally from the Bronx, Elisha’s practice has moved through illustration, mural work, teaching, live event portraiture, and tattooing. The thread is consistent: looking closely, noticing what carries meaning, and turning it into something visual.

01 / Drawing came first

Built by looking closely.

Elisha studied illustration at New York City’s High School of Art & Design and later fine art at SUNY Oneonta. Drawing people on the subway became a daily education in gesture, posture, expression, and the small details that make someone recognizable.

02 / Skin

Illustration became tattooing.

Elisha approaches skin with the same concerns that shape her work on paper: line, composition, gesture, proportion, symbolism, and how an image feels in relation to the person carrying it.

03 / Memory

What we keep.

Motherhood opened another direction in Elisha’s work. Inspired by her daughter Luna, she began developing Echoes in Bloom, a maternal illustration series centered on pregnancy, sonograms, and early memory.

Now

The mediums change. The questions don’t.

What do we remember? What do we carry? How do we see ourselves? What deserves to become an image?
